HOTELS WE LOVE

pacuare lodge

Pacuare Lodge (Member of National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World) is a luxury, eco-hotel with only 20 suites and situated on the banks of one of the world’s most scenic, white-water wonders, the Pacuare River of Costa Rica. This unparalleled location, with its vibrant nature, offers a scenic backdrop to adventure, romance and wellness. Simple, and yet sophisticated, the indigenous Cabécar-inspired architecture, pristine rainforest, farm-to-table exquisite cuisine, and luxurious, well-appointed accommodations come together to offer an experience like no other. Visit the hotel website.

lapas rios lodge

Founded in the early 1990s by two former Peace Corps volunteers & avid birders, Lapa Rios broke the ground and then set the bar for ecolodges and ecotourism in Costa Rica. The lodge is perched on a ridge within a 1,000 acre private rainforest reserve on the wild Osa Peninsula, one of the areas least impacted by humans in Costa Rica. Accompanied by expert naturalist guides, guests discover the magic of the Pacific Coastal tropical rainforest and Golfo Dulce, one of just four tropical fjords in the world and a favorite habitat of sea turtles, dolphins and whales. Corcovado National Park is nearby, but wildlife viewing within the preserve, particularly for birds, is nearly as prolific. Visit the hotel website.

Guests can relax with a book in the beachfront hammocks and loungers or explore the nearby world-class surf breaks with ideal surf conditions throughout the year. This is shoes-off luxury, offering privacy and an attentive, friendly and discreet staff instead of the pretense of some high-end larger resorts. What Our Bespoke travelers Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our bespoke clients do the talking!

We are on our way home and wanted to thank you again for booking an incredible trip. Both the Resort in Mexico and Belize were beautiful. Great weather and service. We even decided to do a second snorkeling excursion while here (doing both the inner and outer reef).

Couldn’t have asked for more.

Thank you again.

Richard &Tanya, November 2017 - Romantic Getaway for 2. Destination: Mexico and Belize

I had a great experience having MF as my trip planner. It was less hassle for me to do and it helps to have a trip planner who has been to the countries you’re going to visit (Belize and Guatemala). I arrived late on the first day, and she made all the arrangements with the local guide to ensure the group was waiting for me. Thanks to MF’s patience and passion for travel, I had an amazing trip!

This is the best place in Central America to do whitewater rafting and ideal for those seeking a more active experience.
